Joint PhD Program

PhD students are jointly trained by EIT and Shanghai Jiao Tong University or the University of Science and Technology of China under a 1+3 scheme, with the doctorate conferred by the partner university. Research years at EIT come with a competitive stipend, fully equipped laboratories, an operational AI-and-automation lab, and a group-owned computing cluster. We expect a first-author record of strong publications, working English, and a background in synthetic methodology or AI/automated chemistry. A special 2027 opening — joint with Peking University's College of Engineering or SJTU's computer science school — reserves one seat at the robotics–chemistry interface.

Postdoctoral Positions

Several openings across organic photo- and electrochemical synthesis, DFT computation, and machine learning with laboratory automation, including AI for Chemistry positions co-supervised with Yuntian Chen's group at EIT. Applicants should hold a PhD earned within the past three years (normally under 35) and a strong publication record. Pre-tax salary of RMB 325,000–525,000 plus a monthly living allowance; municipal research funding up to RMB 200,000; 1:1 matching for national or provincial postdoc fellowships; talent apartments; and up to RMB 600,000 in settlement subsidy for those who stay in Ningbo.
